Wagg Dog Treats: Rastes Rike Ricken*

Today we’re reviewing a new flavour dog treats, from those clever folks at DSCF0291Wagg Foods; the new Chicken and Cheese flavour Training Dog Treats. For the purposes of this review we have enlisted the help of one of our Canine Companions, Maisie Moo. If this goes down well then we may consider keeping her on on a permanent basis.

*Editor’s note. Since the last time Maise wrote into Newsnibbles we were required to post a translation on the Facebook page, for those readers who don’t speak fluent dog, the editor has translated this post in advance of posting.  We hope that this has in no way altered the voice of the reviewer.

When I first received the packet of training treats in the post I was very excited.  I don’t usually get any post and this was a proper parcel.  When I opened it I became extra excited as it contained treats flavoured with two of my favourite things; Chicken and Cheese.  I am not a large dog, and prefer my treats delicately proportioned, and as such these mini treats were perfect for my sensitive bite.  I am not usually interested in treats, (unless it is cooked vegetables, which I think are important to keep my skin clear), and usually my brother Charles ends up finishing mine for me.  However, I could smell these through the packet and was very excited to try them.

In general I am a bit of a free spirit, and tend not to do what I’m told unless I feel like it.  These yummy treats were enough of a motivation to make me sit up straight and pose for a photo, which I hope Newsnibbles will use as my staff picture if they decide to keep me on.  I did go straight for a drink to wash them down when I was finished, but then went straight back to see if there was any more, which is unusual for me, as I share the ability to feign total disinterest in everything and everyone with cats, who I totally ignore, along with everyone else.

Mum is hoping that with the help of these yummy treats I could be trained to stop rolling in fox poo.  I don’t hold out too much hope for that, as I find it’s odour most alluring, but perhaps I could be distracted by the delicious combination of chicken and cheese flavoured tiny teeny bones long enough to walk past the poo and homeward.

What mum most likes about these treats is the fact that they have no artificial colours, or flavours, and the small size means I can have a treat without spoiling my tea.  I was easily convinced to sit up smartly and wait for the treat, and they didn’t make a mess of my super smart outfit, which I was wearing especially for the photograph.  Usually with bigger treats, because I have such a delicate bite I tend to spit the majority onto the rug, then try to pick it up, spit more onto the rug until the whole treat is gone.  Whilst I enjoy this process, I do not enjoy the consequences, which is that the terrible Vacooom has to come out, forcing my to retreat to the bathroom for safety.  With these Wagg treats that didn’t happen.  I ate the whole treat in my first attempt and was not forced to leave the room.  It has been a revelation.

Thank you Dalton for sending me these yummy treats to test. I always have Wagg Complete  for my dinner, and these chicken and cheese training treats are a perfect snack that don’t spoil my apetite for tea. Ranks Rarain.
