a new range of environmentally friendly buses will be running in Reading, fuelled by the natural gas emitted from a cow.

In recent years our bovine companions have been given a bad name, and their windy problems accused of damaging the Ozone layer.  This has not been helped by the recent news that it is possible that the gas emitted by vegetarian dinosaurs could have been responsible for the end of the ice age.

This is now the chance for the cows to give something back to the environment, and allow humans to be less reliant on non sustainable fossil fuels.

According to the BBC Report the buses will be more economical to run, as well as providing a smoother and quieter ride.

The emissions can be locally sourced, and are combined with waste food products to create the fuel for the new vehicles. Turning the manure into gas in way prevents it from decomposing and creating the harmful greenhouse gases, thus helping both cows and people to reduce their carbon footprint.

Whilst this is a first for the UK, the bus is already running in Europe, and if successful we could see these cow powered buses introduced across the country.

We thought we ought to ask a cow what they think about recycling, as all the other news agencies will be all over interviewing people. Since we are on tweeting terms with The Wall Street Bull we asked for his view.

And although we didn’t ask, Damien Hirst’s Shark added:

We asked the Facebook Fans if they had anything to say regarding emissions. They didn’t.
