Penguin Hunt On Hold!

The hunt for an escaped penguin has been put on hold this week as keepers from Tokyo Zoo have decided to wait until the one year old bird

Here, our model, Norma is recreating the daring escape.

gains its distinctive black and white feathers in the hope that he will be more easily identifiable by the public.

The flightless bird, who is yet unnamed (although he is known as “Steve Macqueen Penguin” by the interns here) scaled a rock twice his size to race to freedom at the beginning of March.  Since then keepers have sought him unsuccessfully.  They seek him here, they seek him there, those keepers seek him everywhere, but to no avail.  There was a photograph captured of him doing backstroke in a river in Japan but that is the only sighting to date.

Zoo keepers from Tokyo Zoo are hoping that when the troubled teen gains his adult feathers he will be easier to spot by members of the public and will eventually return home.  We will, of course, keep you updated on this story, unless we forget all about it.
