Parking Ticket for Panda Car!

The talk around the office this week was that a police car attending a call about a shoplifter on Bristol’s Gloucester Road was given a parking

This is our interpretation of a panda car sporting a ticket.

ticket for parking in the bus lane.

Since we pay little attention to gossip we had to confirm reports before informing you.  Whilst Bristol City Council has no record of issuing the ticket, This is Bristol scooped us on the story and has a picture of aforementioned police car sporting the parking ticket.

According to the report witnesses said that the traffic warden was smiling when issuing the ticket, but the police woman returning to her car and discovering the ticket had a less cheery demeanour.

You may remember that last year we reported on the Queen getting clamped in Portsmouth, and this seems to be another example of traffic enforcement officers (is that what they’re called? Seemed appropriately PC) wanting to show that no-one is above, er, parking regulations.  We are not here to pass judgement, just to tell you what happened.  Feel free to pass judgement in a comment below, if you so desire.

We asked the fans if they had ever received a parking ticket.

Pat told us: “I parked outside a radio station I was working at (down a private road with only the station folks in, as it was a Sunday), because all the parking spaces were taken due to a charity on air auction that I was part of. After the show and a load of money raised for charity: a nice car park ticket. Great.”

Bee said: “Back in college I used to drive into Washington DC on a regular basis to do research at an art library there, parking is almost nonexistent so I got frequent tickets, none of which I paid.  Also I’m ditzy and park in stupid places a lot.”

That’s about it for this one. We should have a squee story for you tomorrow.
